Amos 9:1-6

1: I saw ALEPH TAV [FIRST LAST] ADONAI standing upon the altar and He said Smite the lintel of the door that the posts may shake and cut them in the head all of them and I will slay the last of them with the sword They that flee of them shall not flee away and they that escape of them shall not be delivered [-] 2: Though they are burrowing into Shaul [The place of the unseen] from there shall Mine hand take them Though they are ascending the heavens from there will I bring them down 3: And though they hide themselves in the top of Carmel I will search and take them out from there and though they be hid from My sight in the bottom of the sea from there will I command the serpent and he shall bite them

Comments: Amos 9:2 To whom is [את אדני] ALEPH TAV ADONAI referring that has power to burrow into Shaul, ascend into the heavens, or hide in the bottom of the sea, technologically advanced last-days humans or non-human interdimensional or extra-terrestrial creatures such as angels, Watchers, and others Genesis 6:1-4? Regardless of whether humans or non-humans are being referenced, Amos 9:2-3 is both a time-gap [-] and a prophetic free-flow [↑↓] sandwiched between Amos chapter 9, verses 1 & 4.

The time-gap in verses :2-3, gives a prophecy that is clearly not intended for the simple people of Amos [who are being spoken to inverse one], then does a U-turn in verse :4, and resumes speaking to the ancients.

4: [↑↓] And though they go into captivity before their enemies from there will I command the sword and it shall slay them and I will set mine eyes upon them for evil and not for good 5: And ADONAI YHWH [OF] THE ARMIES is He that touches the land and it shall melt and all that dwell in it shall mourn and it shall rise up wholly like a flood and shall be drowned as by the flood of Egypt

6: The One building in the heavens THEIR ascents THEIR ascents and THEIR structures over [the] earth Revelation 21:2,10-27 He that calls for the waters of the sea and pours them out upon the face of the earth YHWH is His name

Comments: Amos 9:4-6 The Godhead speaks in first and third person as well as refers to itself (the Godhead is a being) as both singular and plural. We know the Godhead is a triune being from both Jesus and John Matthew 28:19, 1 John 5:7-8.

Amos 8:8-11 Commentary

8: Shall not the land tremble for this [injustice] and everyone mourn that dwells in it? And it shall rise up wholly as a flood Daniel 9:26 and it shall be cast out and drowned as by the flood of Egypt

Comments: Amos 8:8 is possibly a dual prophecy for two groups of people: Amos’s contemporaries (Amos 8:4-7) and for their descendants who will be alive during the Time of Jacob’s Trouble/The Great Tribulation and live to see the Day Christ Returns (Amos 8:8-10).

9: (-) [Amos 8:9-10 is a prophecy for those who survive the Time of Jacob’s Trouble and of the Day Christ Returns] And it shall come to pass on “that day” declares ADONAI YHWH that I will cause the sun to go down at noon and I will darken the earth in the clear day  Matthew 24:29 10: And I will turn your feasts into mourning and all your songs into lamentation and I will bring up sackcloth upon all loins and baldness upon every head and I will make it as the mourning of an only son and the end thereof as a bitter day The Day Christ Returns Zechariah 12:10 (-)

Comments: Amos 8:7-11 is an example of two separate prophecies presented as one in a non-chronological free-flow ↓↑, where a prophecy for contemporaries of Amos includes a cryptic prophecy for their descendants who will be living during The Time of Jacob’s Trouble, far into the future (The Time of Jacob’s Trouble and The Great Tribulation take place concurrently) and survive to witness the 2nd Coming of Christ.

Amos 8:10 is a parenthetical (-) statement, denoting the significant time-gap between verse 8 (-) and verses 9-10. In Amos 8:11, the prophecy makes a U-Turn and free-flows ↓↑ back to where it left off in verse :7.

11: ↓↑ Behold the days come declares ADONAI YHWH that I will send a famine in the land not a famine of bread nor a thirst for water but of hearing the words of YHWH

Amos 8:4-7 commentary

[Prophecy for contemporaries of Amos] Hear this O ye that swallow up the needy even to make the poor of the land to fail Saying When will the new moon be gone that we may sell corn? and the sabbath that we may set forth wheat making the ephah small and the shekel great and falsifying the balances by deceit? That we may buy the poor for silver and the needy for a pair of shoes Yes and sell the refuse of the wheat? YHWH hath sworn by the pomp of Jacob Surely I will never forget any of their works

Comments: Amos 8:4-7 Only those who don’t know their Bibles can claim that the God of the Old Testament is a God of wrath, while the God of the New Testament is a God of Love. God is the same, yesterday, today, and forever. The Old Testament is chock full of testimonies of God’s love and compassion, just as the New Testament tells of the Alpha and Omega, our Creator and Savior, the Prince of Peace, who will return to fight and win the bloodiest battle that will ever take place in the history of the world. Love is merciful, forgiving, kind, compassionate, and long suffering. Love also demands justice. God is love.

Amos 7:10-17 commentary

Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent [a message] to Jeroboam king of Israel saying Amos has conspired against you in the midst of the house of Israel  The land is not able to bear all his words Jeroboam replies   For this Amos shall die by the sword and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of their own land   Also Amaziah said unto Amos O thou seer Go Flee thee away into the land of Judah and there eat bread and prophesy there But prophesy not again any more at Bethel from the king's holy place and house of his kingdom   Then answered Amos and said to Amaziah I was no prophet neither was I a prophet's son but I was an herdman and a gatherer of sycomore fruit And YHWH took me as I followed the flock and YHWH said to me Go prophesy unto my people Israel   Now because of this YOU [Amaziah] hear the word of YHWH YOU [Amaziah] say Prophesy not against Israel and drop not your word against the house of Isaac   Because of this thus says YHWH Your wife shall be a prostitute in the city and your sons and your daughters shall fall by the sword and your land shall be divided by line and you shalt die in a polluted land and Israel shall surely be deported from his land

Comments: Amos 7:17 Amaziah knew Amos was a prophet and thought he was doing Amos a favor and getting “brownie-points” from God by warning Amos to flee to Judea and prophesy from there. He made the mistake of his life by trying to play both sides … by informing against Amos to Jeroboam and then warning Amos to flee the country and speak God’s Word in a different location.

Think about this: Amaziah was a priest who had the ear of the King, obviously a high-ranking fellow. Yet, because he chose Jeroboam against God and told God’s prophet not obey God, he is told that things will become so bad for him, that his wife, the prestigious wife of a high-ranking priest, who has likely, up to this point, lived an extravagant, privileged, and respected life, will take to the streets, becoming a prostitute in order to survive. Will Amaziah become her pimp? Probably. Epitomes of their society, Amaziah and his wife will sink into the dregs of society. All the while witnessing the murders of all of their children. Could the outcome for Amaziah’s family have been different had he chosen to honor God and not told His prophet to shut up?

Amos 3:3 commentary

Can two walk together except they be agreed?

Comments: Amos 3:3 This verse is commonly used of human relationships, and this is a true principle. But in Amos 3:3, the Almighty is talking about him walking with us and us walking with him. Through the prophet Amos, the Lord declares that, though he has been long-suffering and merciful with Israel, he is ceasing to walk with them because they have consistently and deliberately fallen out of agreement with him, into irreversible depravity.

“Can two walk together except they be agreed?” How can we, who are made of clay, apply this principle to our lives and relationship with our Creator? We seek truth. God’s WORD is Truth. And we walk in it to the best of our ability. We cannot claim to walk with the Lord, unless to our best understanding we are in agreement with him. And how can we know whether or not we are in agreement with him, unless we know his WORD?

Read our Bibles every day, always picking up today where we left off yesterday

John 4:5-26 commentary

5: Then cometh he to a city of Samaria which is called Sychar near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph 6: Now Jacob's well was there Jesus therefore being wearied with his journey sat thus on the well and it was about the sixth hour [noon] 7: There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water Jesus saith unto her Give me to drink 8: For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat 9: Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him How is it that thou being a Jew askest drink of me which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans 10: Jesus answered and said unto her If thou knewest the gift of God and who it is that saith to thee Give me to drink thou wouldest have asked of Him and He would have given thee Living Water 11: The woman saith unto Him Sir thou hast nothing to draw with and the well is deep from whence then hast thou that Living Water?

12: Art thou greater than our father Jacob which gave us the well and drank thereof himself and his children and his cattle? 13: Jesus answered and said unto her Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again 14: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him [Invisible women x’s 3] shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. 15: The woman saith unto Him Sir give me this water that I thirst not neither come hither to draw 16: Jesus saith unto her Go call thy husband and come hither 17: The woman answered and said I have no husband Jesus said unto her Thou hast well said I have no husband 18: For thou hast had five husbands and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband In that saidst thou truly

Comments: John 4:17-18 We do not know if the Woman at the Well was widowed or divorced. Chances are good that her fifth husband put her away without giving her a divorce settlement, thereby leaving her in marital limbo, which prevented her from marrying. If she had been divorced at any time in her past, Jesus acknowledged her marriages as legitimate. He did not stigmatize her for being married five times, though he did not legitimize her current living arrangement.

19: The woman saith unto him Sir I perceive that thou art a prophet 20: Our fathers [invisible women x’s 2] worshipped in this mountain and ye say that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship

Comments: John 4:19-20 It goes without saying, that in this passage the woman refers to her ancestors, both her foremothers as well as her forefathers worshipped, but who is pictured in reader’s minds when all ancestors are called “fathers?” Who is pictured in the minds of readers when translators translate all people as “men?” Males are pictured, rendering women invisible. Gender-biased-translation is the case with most every Bible translation. This must be addressed and corrected.

Though a social outcast, otherwise she would not be drawing water at high noon when none of the other women would be at the well, the Woman at the Well is obviously interested in the things of God. As soon as Jesus spoke of spiritual matters, she immediately launches into a theological debate.

21: Jesus saith unto her Woman believe me the hour cometh when ye shall neither in this mountain Amos 5:1 nor yet at Jerusalem worship the Father 22: Ye worship ye know not what We know what we worship for salvation is of the Jews

Comments: John 4:21-22 Jesus stopped the debate by telling her the Law of Moses, that required worship to take place in the Temple at Jerusalem, would soon be abolished. When he said that salvation is through the Jews, it was an unapologetic reminder that the scriptures foretold that Messiah would descend from the line of Judah.

23: But the hour cometh and now is when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth for the Father seeketh such to worship him 24: God is a Spirit and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth 25: The woman saith unto him I know that Messias cometh which is called Christ When he is come he will tell us all things 26: Jesus saith unto her I that speak unto thee am He

Comments: John 4:23-24 We worship by the Holy Spirit, by the Truth of HIS WORD, through faith in the RISEN SON OF GOD, who is TRUTH personified. Jesus said he was the only way, the only truth, and the only life, and that no one could come to the Father except through Him. Jesus died for the sins of all, so that all could be saved, but not all will be saved.

John 4:25-26 The Woman at the Well was looking for Messiah. She was a woman of faith. The first record we have of Jesus verbally revealing his identity to anyone, is to a woman. Though history and gender-biased-Bible-translators have tried to render women invisible, Jesus never did. Our Creator went out of his way to obliterate sinful gender-based hierarchies and double standards. Jesus made a point to let women and his male disciples know that his female creation was every bit as important, relevant, and autonomous as his male creation, and needed to be publicly treated as such.

Amos 5:27

Therefore will I cause you to go into captivity beyond Damascus says YHWH ELOHIM of Armies Name of HIM, “פPEY

Comments: Amos 5:27 This verse ends in an untranslated stand-alone letter, following the phrase, "Name of HIM.” The letter is not simply the letter “P.” The Hebrew letter (which is also a word) is PEY.

The letter Pey is associated with the word mouth. By extension, it signifies expression, speech, and breath. ELOHIM spoke: By the Word of YHWH were the heavens made and all the host of them by the breath of HIS mouth. Messiah, who is YHWH ELOHIM in the flesh, will destroy the Man of Sin with the Breath of HIS Mouth Psalm 33:6, 2 Thessalonians 2:8.

Pey symbolizes breath, the power to speak, and is considered to give insight and expression.

Amos 5:18-20 Rapture Revelation

18:
Woe unto you that desire FIRST LAST YOM YHWH [Day of The LORD]! to what end is it for you? [For you] YOM YHWH is darkness and not light 19: As if a man did flee from the lion and the bear met him or went into the house and leaned his hand on the wall and the serpent bit him 20: Shall not [for you] YOM YHWH be darkness, and not light? even very dark and no brightness in it? Isaiah 60:2,
Joel 2:2, John 9:4, 2 Thessalonians 2:8-b

Comments: Amos 5:18-20 This verse confirms a pre-tribulational rapture. The Day of the LORD (YOM YHWH) includes the Time of Jacob’s Trouble as well as the1000-year reign of peace that will follow. God just told Israel that it would do no good for them to desire The Day of the LORD, because, if it were to come in their time, they would only experience the darkness of The Great Tribulation and not the brightness of the coming of the LORD and the first 1000-years of HIS reign on earth.

Compare this passage with John 9:4 where Jesus said he would work while it was day. Jesus said that the night would come when no one could work. Jesus was speaking of the dark night of The Great Tribulation.

Amos said there would be no brightness in that day. Joel called it a dark and a cloudy day. In this world, Jesus works through his people, who are indwelled by the Holy Spirit. Compare with 2 Thessalonians 2:7-8, where the apostle wrote that HE (The Holy Spirit) was the one who restrained The Wicked One (the antichrist) and would do so until HE (The Holy Spirit) be taken out of the way.

The day John 9:4 will end by the Holy Spirit will be taken out of the way 2 Thessalonians 2:6-8 when Jesus descends from Heaven with a shout and the dead in Christ rise, immediately followed by the catching up of we who are living and remain 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18. In an instant, in the twinkling of an eye 1 Corinthians 15:52 all who are the Temples of the Living God (through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit) will be removed from the earth, the restraint of the Holy Spirit will be gone, and night will descend on those who have been left behind.

Watch ye therefore and pray always that you may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass and to stand before the Son of Man…Come let us reason together says the LORD. Though your sins be as scarlet they shall be white as snow…For God so loved the world he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believes on HIM shall not perish but have everlasting life…we are saved by grace through faith and not of works…If we confess with our mouth the LORD Jesus and believe in our hearts that God raised HIM from the dead we shall be saved.

Amos 5:11-17

11: Forasmuch therefore as your treading is upon the poor and you take from them burdens of wheat You have built houses of hewn stone but you shall not dwell in them You have planted pleasant vineyards but you shall not drink wine from them 12: For I know your various transgressions and your mighty sins They afflict the just They take a bribe and they turn aside the poor in the gate from their right 13: Because of this the prudent shall keep silence in that time For it is an evil time 14: Seek good and not evil that you may live and so YHWH ELOHIM OF ARMIES shall be with you as ye have spoken 15: Hate the evil and love the good and establish judgment in the gate It may be that the YHWH ELOHIM OF ARMIES will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph Revelation 7:8 16: Therefore YHWH ELOHIM OF ARMIES ADONAI says this Wailing shall be in all streets and they shall say in all the highways Alas! alas! and they shall call the farmer to mourning and such as are skillful of lamentation to wailing [Jeremiah 9:17-18] 17: And in all vineyards shall be wailing for I will pass through thee says YHWHסSAMECH [The one who surrounds, protects, strengthens and commands his people to do the same for those who have no strength]

Comments: Amos 5:11-17 There is no such thing as the God of wrath of the Old Testament and the God of love of the New Testament. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever Hebrews 13:8. YHWH ELOHIM is a God of compassion and love 1 John 4:16. His love for those who have no strength includes consequences for those who oppress the poor and the weak, for those who pervert justice.

Amos 5:10

They hate the one that corrects in the gate and they abhor one that speaks uprightly

Comments: Amos 5:10 [Invisible women] Scripture also records women rebuking, correcting, and speaking uprightly. It is wrong and wicked to call all mortals by the male designation. This is an ages-long deliberate effort to undermine the value of women

Women are not him, his, or he. And Bible translators should take into consideration when mixed crowds or both women and men are being referenced and translate accordingly. Bible translators should take full context into consideration while translating and should do so without gender-bias.

Amos 5:7-8

You who turn judgment to wormwood and leave off righteousness in the earth Seek HIM that makes the seven stars and Orion and turns the shadow of death into the [light of] morning and makes the day dark with night that calls for the waters of the sea and pours them out upon the face of the earth YHWH is his name; ס Samech.

Comments: Hosea 5:8 Verse :8 ends with an untranslated, **stand-alone, Hebrew letter, samech, which has a meaning of surround, protect, to prop up, to support. So, we see that in addition to everything else YHWH says in Hosea 5:8, HE ends the message with a reminder that HE is Israel’s protection and sustainer.

Along with the reminder of who HE is, we would do well to remember that we, also, are commanded to not to oppress the poor and the orphans. We are commanded to protect and be a support to those who have no strength. We are not to pervert justice and goodness. That is SAMECH.

** Many passages in the Hebrew Bible end with stand-alone letters that carry great meaning. Most lexicons and concordances do not mention these, and if they do, they shrug them off as inarticulate and untranslatable. This is slothful rubbish, when translators know that Hebrew letters have not only sounds but meanings. Simple footnotes explaining this would more than suffice. But lay-people remain ignorant, thus having their personal study stunted if they fully trust translators who know full-well these stand-alone letters are present in the text.

This contributes to the power spiritual leaders have due to knowledge and understanding they possess that lay-people do not. The imbalance of power between the learned and the unlearned is a deliberate and carefully maintained balance of power. The good news is that the unlearned can learn if they so desire.

John 19:19 Jesus or Yeshua? Was Hebrew a dead language in Jesus's day?

And Pilate wrote a title and put it on the cross and the writing was JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS This title then read many of the Jews for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city and it was written in Hebrew and Greek and Latin --John 19:19

Comments:  Some claim that Hebrew was a completely dead language by the time Jesus was born. Some say the name Yeshua was invented by the Hebrew Roots and Sacred Name groups. But the Bible says differently. The superscription above Jesus' cross was written in Hebrew, as well as the other two common languages spoken in Jerusalem.

If Hebrew was a dead language in the First Century, then why was it referred to as a living language in the New Testament? The superscription placed above Jesus on the cross, was written in three languages. The languages were Greek, Latin, and Hebrew

Latin is a dead spoken language today, but it was not a dead language in Jesus' day. Latin, the old Italia, was the spoken language of the Romans, who had earlier become Grecianized when they were conquered by the Greeks. Though Greek became their primary spoken language, it took much longer for their mother tongue of Latin to die. Latin was still very much a living language in the first centuries, as was Hebrew.

When Jesus walked the earth, all three languages that were placed on the sign above his head while he hung on the cross, were spoken languages. Greek may have been the everyday language. Every Jew may not have spoken or read Hebrew, just as many Romans no longer read or spoke Latin, but many still did. Enough so that Pilate commanded that the superscription, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS, was written in Hebrew as well as in Greek and Latin.

The superscription above Jesus' cross: (John 19:19) Greek: iEsous of Nazareth the King of the Jews ... Latin:  Iesus of Nazareth the King of the Jews ... Hebrew: יﬣושע (Yeshua) of Nazareth, the King of the Jews

We know the Hebrew spelling because the names Joshua (יﬣושע) and Jesus are the same name in Hebrew and Greek.

Hebrew was a language the people of Jesus' day understood, both written and spoken, and Pilate wanted to make sure all the people understood, hence the three most commonly spoken and written languages of the day (in Jerusalem).

Yes, Jesus quoted from the LXX, which was a Greek translation of the Hebrew scriptures. But he had access to the Hebrew scriptures as well. We still have the Hebrew Scriptures today, because God promised that HIS WORD would be preserved to every generation. that includes Jesus' generation and our generation. Hebrew was not a dead language in the first Century. If it had been, the superscription above Jesus' cross would never have been written in Hebrew

Jesus and Joshua share the same name. We see this in both the Old Testament and the New.

Greek speaking early Christians also called Joshua, iEsou(ihsou), Hsous/iEsous (Greek variations of the name Jesus). Joshua is called Jesus in Acts 45 & Hebrews 4:8

Greeks called Joshua, Jesus, but that did not mean his name was not Joshua. In his lifetime, all Hebrews called Joshua, יﬣושע, Yhoshua, or Yeshua. Same name.

In the name Joshua (meaning YHWH יﬣוﬣ] is salvation), we see the first three letters of the Tetragrammaton YHWHיﬣוﬣ. (Yahweh or Yehovah). Transliteration or not, the name Joshua in Hebrew is the same name as Jesus in Greek.

There should be no debate about whether it is incorrect to call Jesus Yeshua or visa-versa. This is not an either-or question.

Joshua Jesus Yeshua Joshua iEsou, (ihsou), Hsous/iEsous ...all the same. All are Ok. *All are HIS name, just in different languages.

*If only the Greek Translation (LXX) of the Old Covenant is relevant today, then the Septuagint is the only version of the Old Testament all Christians should possess and read. But it is doubtful any Believer takes that position. The LXX is simply a Greek translation of the Hebrew Scriptures but should not be elevated above them.

In Jesus’ day, the people of the Roman Empire spoke many languages. In Jerusalem, three were primary, Greek, Latin...and Hebrew.

Joel 3:11-17 commentary

Mobilize you Come you All of the nations from round about And they are convened there-ward YHWH cause thy mighty ones to come down Nations they shall be roused and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat for there will I sit to judge all the nations round about Put ye in the sickle for the harvest is ripe Come get you down for the press is full The vats overflow for their wickedness is great Multitudes, multitudes in the Valley of Decision for יום יﬣוﬣ  Yom Yahweh Day of the LORD is near in the Valley of Decision The sun and the moon shall be darkened and the stars shall withdraw their shining Matthew 24:29 And YHWH shall roar out of Zion and utter his voice from Jerusalem Matthew 24:30, John 8:24, Revelation 19:11-16 and the heavens and the earth shall shake Matthew 24:29 and YHWH will be the hope of his people Isaiah 66:8-9, Zechariah 12:10, Matthew 24:25-30 [Yeshua YHWH] and the strength of the children of Israel So shall you know that I [am] YHWH your Elohim dwelling in Zion MY Holy Mountain Then shall Jerusalem be holy and there shall no strangers pass through her any more

Comments: Joel 3:11-17 is a parallel passage to Matthew 24:25-30 and Revelation 19:11-16. In this passage we see the Battle of Armageddon, which happens on the day of the 2nd Coming--the Day Yeshua YHWH Returns.

In Joel 3:11-17, we see the Godhead speaking in both 1st & 3rd persons. We see that YHWH, the King of kings and Lord of Lords, roars out of Zion to judge and make war. Revelation 19:11-16 says that JESUS is King of kings and Lord of lords. Yeshua is YHWH, who roars on the scene [at the Battle of Armageddon] with the armies of Heaven to defeat his enemies who are advancing on HIS city, Jerusalem Matthew 24:30, Revelation 19:11-16

Jesus is God. Yeshua is YHWH John 1:1 & 8:24, 1 Timothy 6:14-16
