Deuteronomy 7:14

Thou shalt be blessed above all people there shall not be male or female barren among you....

God protected women by saying [in his Word] that it was false to consistently blame wives for not bearing children. It was not always wives who were infertile.

In ancient times, if a wives bore no children, husbands could legally put those wives away and take new ones. But scripture made it clear that infertility of husbands could be the reason a marriage produced no children. But, alas, for centuries male dominated theology-- not criticizing men in general, just stating a pertinent fact--conveniently ignored the statement found in Deuteronomy 7:14, a statement that made clear the fact that husbands could also be infertile.

Acknowledging this scripture would have emancipated women from centuries of fear and suffering due to infertility censure.

Hosea 4:2-3,6

By swearing and lying and murdering and stealing and committing adultery they breach [Breach God’s hedge of protection – Job 1:9-10] and bloods in bloods they touch Therefore shall the [promised] land mourn and every one that dwells in it shall languish with the beasts of the field and with the fowls of the heavens Yes the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away....

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge Because you have rejected knowledge I will also reject you....

Comments: Hosea 4:2-3 It’s not a difficult thing to know what behavior breaches God’s hedge of protection. He lists these things in verse three: swearinglyingmurdering, stealing, and committing adultery. Basically, the ten commandments. The children of Israel, en masse, were guilty of all of these things.

Hosea 4:6 This verse is often quoted but rarely in whole. The part about rejecting knowledge is usually left out. Yes, ignorance can and does destroy, but within the context of judgement, as in Hosea 4:6, it is the rejection of God’s knowledge that can and does bring about both national and personal calamity.
