3: But Peter said
Ananias why have you allowed Satan to fill your heart to lie to the Holy Ghost
and to keep back part of the price of the land 4: While it remained was it
not your own and after it was sold was it not in your own power why have you
conceived this thing in your heart you have not lied to men but to Theos[1]
[1] The two verses taken together, Acts 5:3-4, comprise a clear
statement about the deity of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Spirit is part of the
Godhead. Therefore the Holy Spirit is YHWH.
Peter asked Ananias why he had lied to the Holy Ghost, and then goes on to
state that he had not lied to people but to God. Lying to the Holy Spirit is lying
to God, because the Holy Spirit is God.
