Ephesians chapter 3 Commentary

1: For this cause I Paul the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you ethnos 2: If you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you 3: How that by revelation he made known to me the mystery as I wrote before in few words 4 Whereby when you read you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ 5: Which in other ages was not made known to the children of audawm as it is now revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; 6: [that] Ethnos should be fellow heirs and of the same body and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel[1] 7: Whereof I was made a diakonos according to the gift of the grace of God given to me by the effectual working of his power 8: To me who am less than the least of all saints is this grace given that I should preach among the ethnos the unsearchable riches of Christ 9: And to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery which from the beginning of the world has been hid in God[2] who created all things by Jesus Christ[3] 10: that might be known now to the principalities and authorities in the heavenlies through the assembly the manifold wisdom of God, 11: according to the purpose of the ages which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: 12: In whom we have boldness and access in confidence by the faith of him 13: Wherefore I beseech [you] not to faint at my tribulations for you which is your glory. 14: For this cause I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ 15: Of whom every family in the heavens and on earth is named 16: That he would grant you according to the riches of his glory to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man 17: That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith that you being rooted and grounded in love 1 Corinthians 13: whole chapter [4] 18: may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth and length and depth and height 19: And to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge that you might be filled with all the fullness of God 20: Now unto him who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us 21: To him be glory in the congregation by Christ Jesus throughout all ages world without end Amen

[1] Centuries of racial prejudice, reinforced by the belief and practice of inequality on all levels, were ingrained in the psyches of the Jewish people, despite the fact that the prophets had predicted the New Covenant (and beyond) and the fact that the ethnos (nations) would one day be a part of the commonwealth of Israel Isaiah 11:10, Ezekiel 47:21-23, Joel 2:32.
[2] The mystery was Christ IN You, hidden from the ages. The indwelling of the Holy Spirit when our bodies were made the temples of God. This was a carefully guarded secret, until The Feast of Pentecost (also known as the Feast of Weeks) that followed the resurrection of Christ. Pentecost is a harvest feast that predicted the incredible harvest that would take place during the time of Christ IN You. It foreshadowed the time when audawm could be born again and indwelled by the Holy Spirit. 'Âdâm could now be sanctified (made clean) through by Holy Spirit, through a heartfelt belief and confession of the truth Romans 10:9-10, 13, Ephesians 2:8-9, 3:2-4, Colossians 1:26-27, 2 Thessalonians 2:13. The mystery was hid, but not the “fellowship” of the mystery, which is simply the fact that in Christ all barriers of race, gender, and caste are broken down. No hierarchies allowed between Jew/Greek Slave/Free Male/Female. We are all one [equal] in Christ Galatians: 3:28.

[3] Some teach that Jesus is a created being, “a” god, that God created and then used to create all “other” things. Others teach hierarchy in within the Godhead to support gender-based hierarchy here on earth. But the scriptures do not support such teachings. Jesus said that he was the I AM of the burning bush. Yahweh said there is no Savior beside him. In the beginning was the WORD and the WORD was with God and the WORD WAS GOD. Jesus is Jehovah Isaiah 43:10-11, 44:6, John 1:1 -3, Colossians 1:16.
[4] Without love, it is impossible to have faith, because faith works by love Galatians 5:6.
